What is Northeast EquiWellness?
... and why choose us for equine therapy?

Practitioner-Founded
Horse-First Philosophy
Hi - I'm Tayla Howerton, an equine massage therapist based in northern New Jersey. Having hands-on experience helping hundreds of horses and their owners (from Grand Prix jumpers, to western performance horses, to gaited trail horses, sport ponies, and even miniature horses!), I'm intimately familiar with the challenges that come with horse ownership and performance. We want our horses to achieve great things, but equally importantly, we want to ensure their comfort, health, and longevity. Everything I do as the owner of Northeast EquiWellness is based on my commitment to the horse first. Because only when your horse is feeling their best, can they truly give you their best.
Why Northeast EquiWellness Exists
Like many equine bodyworkers, I was considering adding PEMF and red light therapy to my services. I'm a skeptic by nature and deeply researched the ideal parameters for these modalities. I found that many companies intentionally kept customers in the dark about the technical specifications of their products. Furthermore, the only options were from big companies with extensive marketing -- charging a hefty markup on their products. I saw this gap in the industry as an opportunity to make equine therapy more accessible and affordable, without compromising on quality. Many ask me why my products are underpriced compared to the competition. I am only one person with little overhead. I do not have to charge a fortune for my products. Most importantly, I believe in making horse ownership easier for the everyday horseperson. Remember - I'm one person, so I may take a little longer to reply to your emails or messages, but you can be confident that the support you receive is from a real horseperson who 1. uses these products every day, 2. has your horse's best interest at heart, and 3. will provide personal guidance that you just can't get from the big companies. I will tell customers if I believe my products aren't a good fit. Sure, maybe short term I lose that sale, but the trust built over time is invaluable.

Getting Involved in the Community
Northeast EquiWellness regularly invests in the horse community throughout the country. We have donated our products to charity raffles, donated profits to local rescues, volunteered bodywork sessions for local rescues and their horses, and sponsored dedicated youth riders. 2026 Sponsorships

Lila Kleikamp
"My name is Lila Kleikamp. I am 17 years old and am from Vulcan, Michigan. I own 5 amazing horses who I am very passionate about. Chika, my main girl is a 16 year old quarter horse who started my whole barrel racing journey. We learned together and she is the reason I am still riding today. Randall is a 8 year old appendix who helped me to realize what hard work and determination brings. He has brought me some extreme challenges, we worked through it all and I can’t explain enough how thankful I am for him. Barbara is a 6 year old quarter horse who is turning my dreams into a reality. I’ve never met a horse as talented and driven as her. She’s a one in a million and i’m so blessed to call her mine. Reba is a 4 year old quarter horse who I am currently breaking out. She is making huge progress and the joy and reward she brings to training is so special. Foxy is a 4 year old quarter horse who I am currently breaking out as well. She’s soft hearted and has taught me patience in training. I’m so proud of the progress she’s making. All of my horses have a huge place in my heart and allow me to push myself each day. Without the special herd I have, I guarantee I wouldn’t be here today. I barrel race all over the midwest and am so grateful to have a great support system to help achieve my goals. I have qualified to NBHA worlds 3x, IBRA nationals 2x, and placed at these big events. I have achieved many more things with my special horses. I am so grateful for my sponsors who support me along my journey and without them I couldn’t achieve the goals I set. I’m so thankful to have Northeast Equiwellness as a sponsor for the 2026 season! They offer some of the best products i’ve ever used, and my horses would say the same. Thank you so much for this opportunity!"
