Fitting
The GlowLine+ XL is Northeast EquiWellness' largest red light therapy blanket. It is 53 inches long and 28 inches wide. This covers the majority of the topline for most horses. The blanket is suitable for most ponies, though there may be a few inches of overhang past the hindquarters. Ponies under 13hh will likely be too small.

You will receive three elastic Velcro straps with your blanket. There will be one 1.5 meter strap, and two 1.7 meter straps. We recommend starting with the 1.5m strap across your horse's chest, and a 1.7m strap around the widest part of your horse's belly. If needed, you can wrap the extra strap around your horse's girth groove, or around your horse's hindquarters for extra stability.

When you first receive your blanket, it may be stiff. Over time, with use, it will conform more readily to your horse's topline. Some wrinkling is normal over the lowest part of the back.

Common Fitting Problems
The blanket falls to the side or shifts around
This can happen if the horse is moving excessively. The blanket is ideally used when the horse is tied, in hand, or in the stall resting. If you are still having problems with stability, make sure to use all three straps snugly -- ideally one across the chest, one across the widest part of the belly, and the final strap going either across your horse's girth groove, or around the hindquarters. Experiment with the best placement for your horse's anatomy.

We have some customers that use a fly sheet over top the blanket to allow their horse to walk around freely while they receive their light therapy treatment.
The blanket is stiff
This is normal when your blanket is brand new. As you use it consistently, it will become less stiff. Due to its sturdy construction, it is not meant to be completely form-fitting. The simple rectangular design allows us to give you and your horse superior LED coverage at an affordable price.
Tips & Tricks
Follow these guidelines to get the most out of your GlowLine+ XL blanket.
Clean the area before use. Dust, dirt, loose hair, and sweat may impede the penetration of light past the skin. For best results, use an alcohol wipe on the topline to facilitate better light penetration.

The blanket can be used on clipped horses, horses with summer coats, and horses with modest winter coats. However, if your horse's coat is exceptionally long or wooly, clipping may be required for best results.

On very hot days, monitor your horse for overheating.

Do not use the blanket on a wet horse.

Extra Tip: For sore muscles, use the third setting -- near-infrared light is best to reach past the skin and superficial fascia to the muscle!
